With the approval of Hanban, Hubei University decides to enroll foreign students who apply for a master degree on Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. 2010 autumn intake is with full-scholarship offered.
1. Number of Enrollment
10 students for 2010 autumn intake.
2. Eligibility
2.1 Candidates should be of foreign nationality, and those who are having their study in China or those applying for coming to China through the cooperative universities and colleges abroad. The candidates should be under 45.
2.2 Candidates should be in good health, and present the “record of Physical condition of foreigners”.
2.3 Loving Chinese teaching work and promising to carry on teaching Chinese for at least two years after graduation.
2.4 Bachelor’s degree (or above) on Chinese language or other subjects on humanities or social sciences.
2.5 A good mastering of Chinese language and relatively rich knowledge in Chinese culture.
2.6 With qualifications of being a teacher.
3. How to apply
3.1 Duration of Application: January 1–March 31, 2010
3.2 Application Procedure:
 Applicants must submit application materials as following (in duplicate)：
3.2.1 Applicants go to the website: http://cis.chinese.cn, set up personal account and login in. Please complete the application form and forward it online, then print it out and sign.
3.2.2 A Photocopy of the passport page with your photo on it;
3.2.3 Personal Statements, indicating the applicant’s Chinese learning background, study plan and goals in China, etc. The statement should be no less than 200 words, printed in either Chinese or English and signed by the applicant.
3.2.4 Certificates of Chinese Proficiency, could be Chinese Proficiency Certificates and transcripts, or other certificates of Chinese language learning and/or education;
3.2.5 Diploma and transcripts(issued directly by the educational administration office of the school/university, and with a school cache）；Documents in language other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English;
3.2.6 Two letters of recommendation in Chinese or English by professors or associated professors;
3.2.7 Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form (printed by Chinese quarantine authority and only for those whose period of studies in China lasts up to six months) filled in English. Incomplete records or those without the signature of the attending physician, the official stamp of the hospital or a sealed photograph of the applicant are invalid.
3.2.8 8 photos of candidates in passport size with one’s name written on the back.
3.2.9 “Letter of Commitment”, promising to be in Chinese language teaching occupation for at least two years after graduation.
